Ecks: About
Ecks is an electronic music artist who blends his own style of original electronic music by combining Ambient Electronica, Dance, Techno, and just a hint of Breaks.
Ecks is one individual, Darren Wilkins, who has come from a life of playing the drums in garage bands. Darren has now traded the sticks for a Keyboard and a Computer. Ecks' music ranges a from dark melodic ambience, through to bright dance tracks. Most of the time his music combines layers of intricate drum tracks programmed by the drummer that still lurks in the darker areas of Darren's brain.
Darren's musical influences began in the 80's with his love of metal, but don't hold that against him! In a bizarre twist, he moved on to jazz and played for several years in jazz and funk bands. In the late 90's Darren discovered the power of computers and that even a "drummer" could create amazing music.
Darren now produces music in the guise of Ecks.
Ecks Music is Written, Recorded and Produced by Darren in the Ecks Media studio located in Western Sydney, Australia.
